Vybe Space ("we", "Vybe") is a social platform for young people. We take privacy seriously, especially for younger members. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is protected.
1. What We Collect
- Account information: username, email address, date of birth (optional but encouraged for safety features), and hashed password.
- Profile information: display name, bio, avatar, interests, and any other information you choose to add to your profile.
- Content you create: posts, comments, messages, stories, and reactions.
- Uploaded files: images and other media you upload. These are stored on our servers.
- Activity data: when you log in, which features you use, and basic usage patterns. This is used to operate the service.
- Session data: a secure session cookie that keeps you logged in. It expires when you log out or the session times out.
2. Age and Parental Provisions
Vybe Space is intended for users of all ages but is designed with younger users in mind. We ask for date of birth during signup. If a user indicates they are under 13, they are shown a parental guidance screen and account creation is not completed — we do not create accounts for users under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without parental consent, please contact us at support@vybe.infinityofashe.com and we will investigate promptly.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the Vybe Space service
- To let you connect with friends and share content
- To deliver notifications about activity on your account
- To moderate content and keep the community safe
- To send password recovery emails when you request them
- To maintain security and prevent abuse
We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties.
4. Cookies and Sessions
We use a single secure session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers we operate and control. Passwords are stored as secure bcrypt hashes — we cannot see your password. We use HTTPS for all connections. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.
6. Messages and Direct Messages
Direct messages are stored in our database and are visible to platform administrators for moderation purposes if reported. We do not read messages routinely; we only review them in response to safety reports.
7. Moderation and Safety
Reported content may be reviewed by our moderation team. Moderation actions (warnings, suspensions, or bans) are logged. We may retain records of serious safety violations to prevent re-registration.
8. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account by emailing support@vybe.infinityofashe.com. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time. Some data may be retained where required by law or to prevent abuse.
9. Data Export
Data export is not currently available as a self-serve feature. You may request a copy of your personal data by contacting support.
10. Email
We only send email for password recovery when you request it. We do not send marketing emails.
11. Third Parties
We do not share your personal data with third-party services. Push notifications use the Web Push API via your browser — your browser provider handles delivery.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform.
